The problem is that the same Deadshot (with the same voice actor) was then featured in Arkham Origins and the spin-off games Arkham Origins Blackgate and Arkham Underworld (not to mention Assault on Arkham) with varying personalities. It's convincing that THAT Deadshot was actually stealing someone else's identity. In that game, Deadshot's reputation was built up as being the deadliest assassin in the Arkham universe, but then he ends up being a boisterous idiot who gets easily taken out by Batman. This makes sense if you only consider Arkham City, which is the only Rocksteady game featuring Deadshot. In Suicide Squad, it's going to be revealed that the Deadshot in Arkham City is an imposter: Except, they used the Arkham Origins voice actor (even though his older counterpart had a different actor in City) and they used the same character model (even though his mask had been burnt to his face by the time of City), again kicking the timeline in the balls. In Arkham Knight, it's mentioned that Batman didn't have Detective Mode in his early years of crime fighting and one of the DLCs has Black Mask returning. Asylum references the events of Batman: Knightfall, a story that doesn't fit into the timeline because of parts of it being loosely adapted into Origins. In terms of contradicting Asylum, you have Harley Quinn's origin and first meeting with the Joker getting written over in Origins and the Titan formula is also given a bogus backstory in Origins.

Arkham City makes it clear that Batman has never encountered Deadshot before, but he appears in Origins anyway. Batman doesn't obtain the Grapnal Boost until City, so its appearance in Origins is a giant "F**k you" to the timeline.Īdditionally, they made it so that all of the holidays in Calendar Man's creepy stories happened the same year right after Origins.

Part of the map in Origins is a glaring continuity error, with buildings and streets changing position and the entire area from behind the prison walls is completely absent. According to Arkham City, the Penguin wasn't even active at that point, the Falcone's controlled the Gotham City criminal underworld (not Black Mask), and so on. Yeah, it had a lot of conflicting information.
